Got a New Cast Member for Survivor..
So everyone knows that the economy is hurting right now and in an effort to save money we have began recycling our clothing.

Here's the story----
Jason has had a particular pair of shorts for several years...I would say about ten because he has had them and worn them since I have known him. Heck, they are probably for high school but anyway, a few years ago we noticed a small hole in them and he has refused to give them up. The hole has progressively gotten worse over the years and had turned into a tear. Be that as it may, they are his cozy shorts, yard shorts, and any other type of shorts he can think of to avoid me throwing them out. I am sure everyone has that one piece of clothing that they refuse to give up for one reason or another. It may be sentimental or whatever. Anyway, he put his favorite pair of shorts on this past Saturday and went out in the yard to begin cleaning out the fish pond. By the end of the afternoon there was nothing holding the shorts together except the waistband and still Jason wanted to salvage them somehow. I am being serious here people. He wanted to know what we could do with them. I guess he thought I could whip something together considering I have a sewing machine and half way know how to work it. Well, while I was in Gabriella's room feeding her, this is what managed to happen to the shorts. Like I said, times are hard and we must recycle and prevent waste =)
Now, updates on Gab-a-rella:
1.) Today was her 4 month check up and as the doctor stated so eloquently, "This girl is just big all the way around"! She is weighing in at 14 lbs 9 ounces which makes her 90th percentile for weight. She is 25 1/2 inches long, having grown 5 and 1/2 inches since birth, and in the 95th percentile. And lastly the infamous "Calfee head" is in the 75th percentile! He said she is looking great. She lucked out and didn't have to get her shots today because we changed docs and he wants her records before he administers shots so we will have to deal with that the first week in June.
2.) She began sleeping in her crib instead of her bassinet at night. A few nights ago I heard the bassinet rocking back and forth and considering she is starting to roll on her side and whatnot we decided it was best to go ahead and transition to her crib. We thought it would be a task but no, not for our little girl. She took to it the first night, sleeping 9 hours straight of course! =) That's our girl!
So here are a couple pictures of my lovely from this past few days!

I can see!!
Okay so I am sure those of you that care, already know that I can see! My lasik eye surgery has been a success so far and I don't have to wear glasses or contacts anymore. I went for my post-op this past Wednesday and my vision in my left eye is 20/20 and 20/25 in my right and will only get better! I told my best friend, Nicole, today that I just might have x-ray vision before it is all said and done. Everyone better look out and make sure you have clean underwear on or have undies on at all for that matter =)
Anywho, today is Friday and I am thankful for that!! Our new living room furniture was delivered this morning and when Jason gets home we are going to rearrange our living room. Gabby is sleeping peacefully in her crib and Hayden is playing so I thought I would give a quick update. We don't have any major plans for this weekend, which I love, because we have been so busy lately. I think we will probably do some things around the house and get things together for our beach trip next week. We are going to Orange Beach for Memorial Day weekend and also celebrating Brayden's first birthday. I am excited to get the grand babies on my side together. I am also hoping to get the grand babies on Jason's side together soon too! As I mentioned last week, we have a new nephew so that makes four on Jay's side. Wow, Gabby is in for it with four boys on that side being the only girl. I think she's tough though so she will be alright!!
Anyway, here are a couple videos taken this past week:

~Wonderful, Wonderful, Weekend~
So, the weekend is over and we are trying to catch up on rest. It seems like here lately our weekends are so full. This past Saturday we had another birthday party to go to at Butch and Wendy's. We went to that and then we spent the rest of the day shopping in Mobile. We were looking for a bed for Gabby's room and ended up buying furniture for our living room!
Sunday was of course Mother's Day and it was a super-duper one for me. Jason, Hank, and Princess surprised me with two very sweet cards and a spa package for a one hour massage and a facial!! I was excited about that. Jason is such a thoughtful guy-he said he knew I deserved it! =)
Anyway, we got our things together around lunch time and headed to the IP casino and resort. We had a room there so we were exited about that. We laid by the pool for a couple hours and then we ate the buffet with Mamaw, Papaw, Nanny & Poppy. They had to head home last night but it was nice to see them! It was very delicious! This morning I had to go to my last eye appointment before my eye surgery. Jason took the morning off to take me since my eyes were getting dilated and then he brought me back to the IP. Hayden and I watched some T.V. and then we decided to head to the pool for a bit since my eyes were feeling much better. Melanie, Kyser and Ashley joined us at the pool which was really exciting because it was Kyser's first pool trip!
Alas, we are home now and relaxing. I am having Lasik tomorrow so I will probably be off the computer for a day or so but wish Jason luck since he will be holding down the fort tomorrow because I plan on locking myself in my room after I take my "happy medicine" that they give me! Hopefully he can handle things..Mamaw has already said she will cook our dinner tomorrow night so hopefully he can do it!!!

Gotta nother video...
So here are some more videos taken from today. The first is she and I playing on the floor and the second is of her on the changing table getting a fresh tushy! I am having fun with this stuff- the videos, not the fresh tushy diaper changing! Ignore my annoying baby talk- Petunia seems to like it! =)
"Gabby-Dabby Thumb-Sucker"
So this post is short and sweet but I wanted to upload this picture of my Gabby-Dabby Thumb-sucker doing her thing during her morning nap. This is my first video upload so hopefully it works. =) Also, not the best quality because it was taken on my phone but you get the point...

Pizza and a movie...
So today Hayden and I decided to make homemade pizza for dinner. We Also cut up potatoes and baked them with bacon and chives. Hayden really enjoys helping out in the kitchen. He loves anything that pertains to cooking but he especially likes to mix and stir things, chop and cut things (with his children's knife of course), and pour things in the bowl.

I also taught him how to unload the silverware in the dishwasher yesterday! Yah for mommy!! He does a really great job placing the items in the drawer with the other like items. My little man is such a big helper boy. Anyway, Jason and Hayden are making us some ice cream and we are going to sit down and watch some T.V.! Here are a few pictures of the pizza making process!

News in the Calfee Household
Well, first and foremost, we are proud to announce the arrival of our fourth nephew! Andrew Jonathan Calfee came into this world this morning and we are so very happy for Jon and Symantha and wish them all the best! They have not had any sleep since Saturday since she went into labor last night. They are both exhausted...little do they know their exhaustion is only beginning =).
Anyway, we had a pretty great weekend. Friday night we hung out. Gabriella got to try out her new "Jenny Jumper"! We cleaned up around the house and Jason waxed the cars Saturday morning. Hayden tried out his new slip-n-slid that Melanie, Spence & Kyser got him for his birthday. Oh and did I mention I tried out the new slip-n-slide too. Well let me just say that I understand why it is not for individuals over the age of twelve. I thought I had a spinal cord injury for a second.
After we finished cleaning up a bit we grilled some steaks and I fried some crab claws! We also had baked potatoes, salad, and burned yeast rolls! Yummy Yummy! Nanny and Poppy also came and stayed the night with us which we enjoyed!
Sunday was a pretty lazy day. I actually got in the pool for a bit. It was very cold but was nice. We had Mamaw and Papaw down for Popeye's chicken for dinner.
Oh, I also made my first dress for Gabby last night. Don't laugh too hard!! I actually think it looks pretty good! It is in the style of a pillowcase dress!! Let me know what you think because everyone may get one for Christmas, guys and girls, because I really enjoying making it not to mention I have a ton of fabric in this design left!

A little perspective on things...
I started reading "Our Daily Bread" in the mornings, during my cereal a few months ago. Not sure if any of you are familiar with this pamphlet but it is sent out monthly and has a Bible study for each day. It is amazing to me how each day I read the message and it usually relates to what is going on in life at the time. I often joke with people saying that I wish God would write what he wants me to do in the clouds and that would make life a lot easier well I came to a realization this morning while reading the message for May 1st. God does better than that, he gives us a manual to follow-the Bible. Today's message says "Like a compass, the Bible always points us in the right direction". It also says "How precious is the Book divine by inspiration given! Bright as a lamp its doctrines shine, To guide our souls to heaven". I thought to myself how powerful those words are.
A few nights ago after watching, The Duggers on TV, Jason and I decided we would start having family Bible study each night at our house. We have not yet found a home church here in Mississippi so we thought this would be a great way to get/stay on track with our spiritual growth. So our Bible study will help us because we both know that it is our job to grow with God and it is also our responsibility to teach our children.
So tonight will be our first night of in home Bible study. I am starting with a simple children's Bible of Hayden's in an effort to start from the basics and keep Hayden interested. We will read a story and then refer to the Bible for the related verses. I guess this is the teacher in me coming out!!! I will probably devise a little craft for Hayden too! It is time to get back to the important stuff in life.
God Bless You All!!
