Today Gabriella Elizabeth and I went to visit our cousins- Melanie,Spence, & Kyser. Gabby got to meet Kyser for the very first time! Kyser is about five months old so they are pretty close in age. It was really neat seeing the things he is doing and knowing what to expect in a few months. After we left their house we headed to pick Hayden up from school. We spent the rest of the afternoon eating, watching TV, and waiting for daddy to get home!

Just lounging in her crib.

School Shmool...

Well I can't believe it is Sunday already. The weekends just fly by and I am sad to report that my classes start again this week. I have enjoyed not having to worry about school work these past few weeks but now it is back to the grind. I have 20 more semester hours and it is over so I have to push forward and I need to adjust my attitude. I just enjoy spending time with my babies much more than doing school work!

Okay the venting is over...

This weekend was pretty relaxed. Hayden and Gabby were doing better by Saturday morning so Jason and I did something we haven't done in a few months. We went out without children. It was nice to get away but after a couple hours I have to admit we were both ready to get back to our babies!! We went and did a little shopping today and finished off the evening with some Taco Bell.

Lounging around the house with my loves. I am not sure what Gabs is staring at.
Looks like we may have a thumb sucker on our hands!

Sickly little angels!

Alright, I wanted to update very quickly to let everyone know about my poor babies! As you know from my last post, Gabriella had her two month check up yesterday. Well, she is now 12.6 pounds and 23 1/2 inches long(don't hold me to the length because Hayden was also there and needing me). She is in the 75th percentile for both length and weight. She is doing great according to the doctor. Now the sad part, she had to get five shots! =( Two were administered together but that left four pricks!) She tensed up while they giving the first one so now both of her chunky legs are bruised and have lumps under the skin. She was up on and off all night but is still eating like a horse. Nothing can keep this family from enjoying food! =) Okay now on to Hayden. I had mentioned that I thought he was coming down with something on Wednesday. Well, he has an infected throat. The doctor checked him for strep and the flu. They both came back negative which leads the doctor to believe it is viral and will run it's course. So I have been with both my babies not feeling well for two days. =(
Sorry don't have any new pics but I will make up for it and take a ton this weekend. Speaking of which, we were supposed to go see Don, Amber, and baby Brayden but have decided to cancel because of the kids and weather. So I have a feeling it will be a weekend of movies and acting silly around the house! (Ignore my grammar because I am feeding Gabs with one hand and typing with the other btw)

Hump Day..

Today Hayden, Gabby, my cousin Ashley, and I went to visit Wendy and their family in Mobile, AL. Hayden got to stay home from school today because it was a half day and I wouldn’t be able to make it back in time. Plus I think it is nice for children to get to spend a special day with their mommy occasionally while the rest of the world is at work/school doing what they are supposed to do! Ha! Ha! Anyway, we went to eat at O’Charley’s and then did a little shopping. It was a great day except that Hayden started acting like he was coming down with a little bug as they day progressed. I sure hope not but time will tell….
On another note, we dropped Molly and Chester off for their yearly exam today and to be bathed and groomed. Well I am happy to report that both dogs made it out alive however we have a few issues to discuss with them about their health. First off, apparently neither dog has been brushing their teeth and they both have Stage two gingivitis. I knew Molly’s breath was stinking for a reason! As you can imagine they both need a cleaning because it has been 9 years for Chester and 4 ½ for Molly (Their entire lives without one in other words) Okay, on to the more important information, Mommy and Daddy are not the only ones who need to lose a few pounds; Molly is apparently OBESE, yes, the vet called me himself to let me know that she was not just overweight but she was OBESE! Now, if you can imagine my poor, obese dog with rotting teeth! Some my question how I take care of the children! =) So now Molly has to be on a special diet and go in for weigh-in’s every two to four weeks. She also has to have two walks a day and if she gets hungry, she may have green beans, carrots, and broccoli. Yes, you heard that right. Hmm, I wonder if we can get her on “The Biggest Loser” or maybe “Extreme Makeover”. Anyway, that is the latest with the Calfee’s! Oh, Gab’s has her two-month check up and shots tomorrow so please say a prayer for my little Petunia

And here is a picture of Hayden with handsome little Ethan today! I just love those two!

Our Weekend!

I can't believe the weekend is almost over. It was a great one for us. My parents came on Friday and stayed until this afternoon. We had purchased some outdoor furniture on Friday night so we went and picked it up yesterday and then we worked on our yard most of the day. My daddy cleaned out the fish pond and now you can actually see our 29 little fish.(Yes I count them and keep inventory.) Hayden wanted to pet one yesterday but could not catch it! =) He doesn't understand why you pet a dog and not a fish! Anyway, we ended the evening by grilling burgers and then having banana splits! Yummy!
Today Hayden got in the pool for the first time of the season. The water is freezing but he insisted and he actually played for about three hours. I laid out and Gabriella hung out in her little tent! We are ending our weekend with Jason and Gabby napping on the couch and Hayden watching cartoons and about to fall asleep himself!

Tired Mommy...

Picture of Hayden playing under table and Gabby doing tummy time a.k.a sleeping.

I am super-duper sleepy today so this will be extra short and sweet. My sweet girl decided to celebrate her 2 month anniversary and keep me up most of the night. She finally woke up at 3:30 and stayed awake until about 8 a.m. I have read in many of those parenting books that it is important to keep things dark and not to talk too much during those middle of the night wake times but when she is bright eyed, it is hard not to baby talk that sweet face! So as you can probably guess, I fee like I am a walking zombie today!

I just tucked Hayden in bed and read "There is a Wocket in My Pocket" (Thanks Mrs. Carter =)) in our continued celebration of Dr. Suess week and now I am going to bed myself!!

OH one other thing to report before I close for the night-Gabby smiled last night at her Daddy and I but we were not sure if it was a real grin or one of those "gas grins". Well today I was talking to her and she smiled again. I am fairly certain that it was a real smile and it was almost like she was thinking how silly her momma was! If only I had the camera handy!

Wacky Wednesday!

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.”- Dr. Suess

The quote above is my favorite Dr. Suess quote. Dr. Suess' birthday is on March 2nd and in celebration of his birthday Hayden's school is having a week where they do Dr. Suess inspired things. For example, crazy hat day was on Monday, Tuesday was Green Eggs and Ham day, today was
pajama day and so on and so forth. Anyway, here is a picture of Hayden on crazy hat day. Aww-to be a kid again! Here is a picture of Hayden's birthday present that I posted about yesterday. Go, Go, Power Rangers!
Here is a picture of Gabriella's new Jumperoo. She is a little too small for it but will love it soon enough!
Mommy and her girl. Check out Princess Pea's socks. They are awesome. If only they would fit Hayden for funky sock day on Friday!!!
Guess that is about it for today! Oh one last thing, my sweet girl is 8 weeks today!

These kids are hilarious!

These kids are hilarious! Each day they do or say something that completely amazes me or makes me laugh until my belly hurts! Today for example, I bought one of Hayden’s birthday presents, which was a Power Rangers mask that he has been asking for. Well I doubled bagged it so he would not see it and the sneaky little thing spotted it in the back of the Pathfinder! So I tried to say it was for his Uncle Logan and that did not work. He is way too smart for me. Then I finally told him it was his but he could not have it until his birthday well….needless to say now he gets it when daddy gets home. His bargaining skills are outstanding! He is cleaning his room as we speak (hey, I have to get something out of the deal =)) Another funny thing that happened was the other day Hayden goes up to Gabby and is talking to her. Jason and I overhear him tell her, “Hey Gabriella, I am your brother, my name is Hayden Calfee.” We thought it was so funny! Maybe it was a “you had to be there” sort of moment so if you do not find humor in that, it’s okay.

Well as always, here are a few pictures of the loves of my life. Well I better go for now, we are going to plant some flowers! Spring is in the air!

Here is a picture of Gabby in her "My heart belongs to daddy" t-shirt.
Also, while I was trying to get a picture of her shirt, I noticed her feet. My little toaster strudel has some major toe jam. I thought it was so funny..just check out the picture!

Here is a picture of my sweetheart making fruit salad yesterday. Fruit salad, Yummy! Yummy!

I only have a few mintues to update before I hit the sack as I am so sleepy. It was a very busy weekend for us. We took care of yardwork Saturday morning then we went to eat and did some shopping. On Sunday morning we tried a new church and then went to Mobile for my cousin's birthday and did some more shopping which I love! =) Hayden LOVED the new churh and says he can't wait to go back so that makes us happy! Here are a couple pictures of us from yesterday before we left for the day!

Life is too short...

Life is too short to worry about things that really, truly do not matter. My mom called last night to tell me about a fatal car crash that they saw on their way home. After our phone conversation, I began thinking about how much ones life could change in a blink of an eye. We all know this but so often take things for granted. I thought about this some more last night and then today it was like God was teaching me an important lesson when my cousin reminded me that if she had the opportunity to look back on her life on her very last day on Earth that she doubts she will care about the job she held or all those other less important details but instead she will think back to her children and the other important relationships in her life. Life is too short to worry about the things that do not matter!!!

Alrighty, here are a few pictures of what matters to me!

Today has been a fairly calm day for the Calfee household. We did manage to watch Peter Pan, which Hayden enjoyed. Nanny and Poppy came for dinner after Poppy's eye appointment. Dinner consisted of Popeyes Chicken(Yummy!) Poor Poppy has a black eye from his surgery and Hayden made sure to pretend to be a pirate just like his Poppy! It was so very funny! We also got Nanny on the trampoline! That was very funny too! I will be sure to add those pictures later!! Pepaw and Grams better be prepared for some jumping fun in a few weeks =) I have to say that it was an overall good day.
Here are a few pictures! God Bless!

Kids will be Kids

Today I picked Hayden up from school and we headed to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things that we needed around the house. Now, in the past I never gave credit to those mothers at Wal-Mart with children. In fact, I never even gave them a second thought other than the occasional “Can you please control you child?” thought when their child was screaming out of control. Well, today as Gabby was screaming and Hayden was running down the freezer section opening up all the doors I came to a realization. I am now one of those mothers who gets the sly, snobby stare and glances from the staff at Wal-Mart, the younger adult females with no children, and the older prim and proper ladies who would love to show you how to make a child behave properly. Because we all know that those type of ladies love to add their two-cents! The amazing thing is that I do not care what those people think and I actually think it is somewhat funny that I am annoying them in their proper little world. Now don’t get me wrong, I do try to instill good morals in my children but I am trying to remind myself daily that you can’t make a grown-up out of a child( Thanks Nanny) and kids will be kids. And I have to say that I wouldn’t want it any other way!!!

When we got home, we went for a walk. I told Hayden to stay out of the mud at the end of the cul-de-sac because he still had his school shoes on and of course he accidently, on purpose fell in it….well just check out the pictures =)

Hayden's little mishap.

Had to take a bath afterwards.

Monday, Monday....

So today has been the usual Monday for the Calfee family. Daddy and Hayden were out the door for school and work around 7:30 a.m. and Mommy and Priscilla hung around the house until time to go get Little Man from school. Oh, by the way, for those of you that may not know, we use many nicknames in this family. For example, Hayden is little man, Hanky, Hayworth (this one came from Hayden’s great-grandfather, Price), Sweet Potato (from Nanny), and there are many more. Gabriella has also in her 6 ½ short weeks on Earth earned the names of Priscilla, Princess Pea, Gertrude (Mommy likes to call her this when she passes gas, which by the way, she does more than daddy and Hayden put together, and when she feels her diapey with a special surprise for us), and Gabby Dabby Doo, just to name a few
Anyway back to the point at hand…not too much happened today thus far but I thought I would update you all on a few of my favorite moments.

Fun things about today:

1. Gabby squeezing my finger so tight while eating that I need a crowbar to pry her off. Now I don’t know if it is me or the bottle that she can’t live without but I am inclined to think it’s me =)

2. Picking Hayden up from school and he had a special book he made for me which he designed to explain how to plant seeds. He also explained to me that they planted flower seeds at school today but that they have not grown yet. He then explained that the seeds would probably be flowers tomorrow. As you can see, he doesn’t quite understand the concepts of time or agriculture yet but I just love how his mind works.

Alrighty and now today’s sad moment-

I have been doing spring-cleaning, which consists of cleaning out closets. My baby boy is now in a 5T, which makes me wonder where my little chunky boy went. And my little girl is rapidly outgrowing all of her newborn clothing =(

Other up and coming news in our household is “Operation Disney Movies”. This consists of us ordering ALL Disney movies from 1940 forward from Blockbuster online in preparation for our Disney World trip in September. We want to make sure Hayden is familiar with all the classics like “Peter Pan” and “The Jungle Book” that kids seem to miss these days. I believe we have requested approximately 40 movies. We have calculated that it is gonna take a lot of time and popcorn to complete the mission. It’s a rough task but I think we can do it!

Well I believe that is all for today but here are a few pictures! Enjoy!
Gabby in her exersaucer- I think she was a little scared.

Calfee Fun Time

So now that Jason is finished with school and I am off this month we are able to spend some more time just playing with the kids which we LOVE! We have spent our entire weekend just playing and it has been a blast.
Poppy and Nanny decided to buy Hayden a trampoline for his birthday so we went yesterday and picked it up! Let me just say that it is so much fun. I had not jumped on one since I was a child and I am beginning to wonder if we like it just as much as Hayden! In addition to trampoline time we also played baseball while Gabriella enjoyed her new tent! Here are a few pictures from our fun family weekend!

Mommy helping out.

and lastly, Hayden passed out on the couch from all the fun =)

Man I love my family!!

We are joining 21st century America...

So today Jason has persuaded me to FINALLY join the rest of America and start blogging about our life. He thought it would be an excellent idea since some of his family(okay one member of his family, yes Pops we are talking about you) do not Myspace. I am going to make an effort to update every day or so with information about our beautiful family. Since this is my very first blog and I am a "newbie" to this I thought I would experiment and add some random pictures of our life....bear with me!
