Let's see...

Well, I am finally finding the time to update my blog. We have had a busy week as usual. We attended my cousin's first birthday this past Saturday and then we headed to the IP casino to spend a little time relaxing on Sunday and Monday. My parents and I got a room there and we spent some quality time lounging around the pool and eating our hearts out at the numerous buffets! I have to admit that I came home with five extra pounds yesterday. Those darn banana splits and all you can eat Crab legs got the best of me and my waistline!

Hayden loved, loved, loved the pool and he was quite the little heart-throb too. He had two little girls flirting with him yesterday and the funny part is how he got a little nervous by it all. He is going to be the shy guy for sure when he grows up. Which makes mommy a little happy, I have to admit, because that means I can keep him all to myself for awhile longer!! I once asked him if he would live with daddy and I forever and he said he would. He said he would work on computers like daddy and then come home and cook dinner for us=)!

Well, it was back to business as usual this morning, with Hayden and daddy off to work and school. Unfortunately, I got a call from school around 9 stating that Hayden had a belly ache and was not feeling well. Petunia and I loaded up (she was dressed for the day and I wasn't) to go get sweet brother. I wasn't sure if he was sick-sick or just homesick when I picked him up but it was quickly unveiled to me upon our return home as he vomited all over the kitchen floor and into the sink. Also, sweet pea is acting a little out-of-sort too and has a mild fever. I guess the kids and I ate too much liquid from the chocolate fountain and partied to hard this weekend!
Needless to say, we are going to take it easy and repose ourselves in the next day or two.

Hayden has a way with babies. It is the funniest thing to me but Ethan was stuck to Hayden like glue. Brayden also loves to love on him. Hayden is so gentle with them too even while Ethan was biting Hayden's face.

Taking a moment to breath...

Well it is Saturday afternoon and we just got home from the Crawfish Festival. It was tons of fun and I think we are all pooped. Jason is lying on one couch and I on the other. The kids, well Hayden is in his bedroom playing and Gabby hasn't made it out of her carseat yet because she is sleeping. I think we are all worn out and are going to hang around the house for the rest of the evening. We have been so busy these past few weeks that it is time for a breather. I already put my "comfy clothes" on and am loving relaxing. Of course those of you that know me know that I love to get my "stretchies", as I call them, on as soon as I walk in the door!

Anyway, here is a recap of today's events.

1.) Jason got to taste crawfish for the first time..he is not as crazy about them as I am. He said he felt like there was poopy all over the part you are supposed to eat. Sorry for being so explicit but if you are reading this then chances are you know we are a very open and gross family =) I was going to type another word besides poopy but why try to sugar coat what he said with more socially acceptable terminology.

2.) There was a benefit for child abuse prevention at the festival and there were some massage therapists working their magic fingers for donations, so of course Jason and I both had to take the opportunity to get a massage! I went first and I was so relaxed while I was getting it that I asked the massage therapist if she had time to "do my husband". Once the words came out of my mouth I realized how it sounded, she probably thought I was some sort of swinger because I could not wait to get my hubby in her chair! Ha Ha! Just take a look!
3.) Hayden got to meet Spongebob!!! They even had the pineapple house setup and all. Image that, a little Bikini Bottom right in the coliseum! Well, Hayden was a little bit nervous to meet Spongebob and ended up getting a little upset..those of you that know Hayden know how soft hearted he is. Prime example was Chuck E. Cheese last weekend. My poor baby was scared of Chuck E. cheese! Anyway, we did manage to take a couple pictures.

Hayden also rode some rides and played some games. It was a really fun day.

Oh, before I close I forgot to add a picture of last nights smashing game of Twister! I don't remember Twister being so difficult. Jason played for about two minutes and quit because his back was hurting..man he is turning into an old man!!! Hayden is in his undies of course. I guess it added to his flexibility.

Lastly, some pics of Cutie-Patooty Booty-

She wore blue jeans for the first time this week. I was talking to her and said "Look baby's got her blue jeans on". I immediately thought of that old song- I don't know if anyone knows the song but it goes like-

Down on the corner, by the traffic light, everybody's lookin', as she goes by, they turn their heads and they, watch her till she's gone.Lord have mercy, Baby's got her blue jeans on!

Anyway, as you can imagine, I spent the rest of the day singing that to her....poor girl!

The Best Things in Life are Free!

Today was an average day in the Calfee house. Gabriella and I hung around the house the first part of the day. She is actually sleeping 8 to 9 hours at night which is wonderful for mommy and daddy!! On top of sleeping through the night she is taking two long naps in her crib now so I am able to get some school work accomplished!!! I am taking my Praxis for Special Ed on the 13th of June so I am spending about 2 hours a day studying for this. Anyway, while I am doing all this studying I can't help but think about all the amazing things in my life! I guess this is where the title of today's blog comes from. When I really sit and think about the "important" things in life, I think of my wonderful, loving family. It boggles my mind sometimes to think about how blessed I am to have all these wonderful people in my life and I guess that is what life is truly about! I wonder sometimes what I did to deserve these great people in my life! I guess I don't really have much to blog about today in some people's eyes but to me it is something absolutely amazing to blog about. The little ,day to day occurrences that I get to be a part of are such an indescribable thing. Sometimes I think it is important to just sit back, put aside all the trials that we go through and just realize, how overwhelmingly wonderful God has been to me. Once again, let me just say, THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE! God's sweet grace, Family, and Love! What more could I really ask for ;)

And let me close with just a few pictures to keep you coming back =)... but again let me just reiterate..THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE!

Wow, Wow, Wow, What a Week...

Where do I begin with details about the past week? I have completely fallen off the face of the Earth with blogging! I think I blogged one time last week!

As you know, we had Pepaw and Grams with us all week so we got into many exciting things.

Let’s see, I am going to try to catch you up on what happened since my last blog. We went to the beach one day. Jason, Hayden, & Mike hit the driving range once or twice and in return Marie and I pampered ourselves with manicures and pedicures =) We got a babysitter on Wednesday night and took Jason out to celebrate his graduation. We went to a place called Mary Mahoney’s for dinner, which was awesome, and then headed to the Hard Rock Casino!
We spent lots of time playing with the kids, eating delicious food, and just enjoying each others company, It was also nice having help with the kids. Grams and Pepaw really helped out with the kids and I think everyone enjoyed it! I know I did =)!
We also had Hayden’s birthday and Easter to celebrate. We celebrated Hayden’s birthday at Chuck E. Cheese and then had Easter dinner at our house yesterday. We had around 25 or 30 for dinner! It was a full house! Everyone brought a dish and it was very delicious indeed! We were so blessed that the rain held off and we were able to have an Easter egg hunt as well. We hid about 75 eggs for the kids. It was so much fun watching the kids! I think next year we may have to have an adult hunt also!

Pepaw and Grams left this morning and I guess things are getting back to normal around here. Whatever "normal" is for us anyway. Hayden stayed home from school today so he could see them off and then just take the day to rest. I think we all need it after this fun filled week!

where to begin....

I have been putting off blogging the past few days partly because we have been so busy and partly because it has been days of sadness and fun all together.

Well as I had mentioned in a previous post, Grams and Pepaw were coming in to town to see us. They arrived Saturday night and we were all so excited and looking forward to the next week. I was excited to see them and their three girls. The three girls are their dogs, whom they love and are their babies. Anyway, Sunday we woke up and headed out to Cracker Barrel and then to our first scheduled stop which was an Alligator Farm. We arrived at the alligator farm and quite frankly were afraid to get out of the car for fear of being eaten by an alligator! I called Hayden "Bobby Bouche" a few times and we decided to head to Biloxi to catch an air show. We enjoyed the rest of our afternoon until we arrived home...which is when the sadness began. Long story short, one of Gram's and Pepaw's dogs was killed. I am not going to go into all the details because chances are if you are reading this you probably already know and if you don't then the only important thing to know is that their "girlfriend" was an amazing, loving, doggy that will be missed dearly and I feel extremely sad and guilty about the situation. I am sure Jason does too. Anyway, I guess I just felt the need to add this to the post because I feel weird about just pretending like it hasn't been a part of the past few days.

Anyway, with all the sadness going on, I would be a liar if I told you I have not had some good times too. We have enjoyed spending time with Mike and Marie and do have some positive things to look forward to in the next few days. We do have some things planned that should be fun for everyone.
Okay with that, here are a few pictures.

The past few days!

So as I mentioned in a previous post, school has once again started for me. That being said I am finding it harder to update the blog. I may have to get Jason to help out some=)

Anyway, here is a snapshot at what is going on in our wacky household.

1.) We are trying to get things in the house in order for our upcoming guests..which brings me to number two.

2.) We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Grams and Pepaw! For those of you who may not know them by those names, they are Jason's Mom and stepdad. We are super excited for them to get here tomorrow as we haven't seen them since last Thanksgiving.

3.) We are preparing for Easter and Hayden's birthday which happen to be on the same day this year. To recognize his birthday separately from Easter, we are having a party at Chuck E. Cheese next Saturday. He loves Chuck E. Cheese but it should be interesting because he gets to meet him in person and although Hayden loves the games and the pizza he has been scared of Chucky in the past, so we will see how that goes! =)

4.) I am trying to keep on top of my school work!

There is so much more to add but I just realized it is time to go get Hayden!

Also, something funky is going on when I try to upload pictures so I will have to add those later...
